Work of Rene Metsch at Curaçao IFFR 2013

My entire life I’ve been fascinated by both films and the artists of Hollywood who contribute to them. The stories they tell have had a profound impact on my life and my creative process.

I’ve spent countless hours bright and early in the morning creating this body of work which is still yet to be finished; each piece is unique and each subject is special to me. This is a small part of a collection of work I’ve painted recently which focuses on some of the people I admire most, and who have inspired me within the entertainment industry.

At times it all happened so spontaneously. By cinema possessed, its spirit has gotten a hold of me, it all became an endless, intense and often fun conversation with my friend of the moment. Every picture tells a story.

I am extremely excited and proud to exhibit my works for the first time at the Curaçao International Film Festival Rotterdam.

Enjoy,

Rene Metsch
