Gabri CHRISTA (Curaçao) came to filmmaking after a successful career as a dancer and choreographer with companies such as Danza Contemporanea de Cuba and the Bill T. Jones /Arnie Zane Dance Company. Awards she has received include the Guggenheim Fellowship for Choreography and the ABC Television Award for Creative Excellence for her short film High School (2002). Her short documentary Un dia kada momentu/One Day at a Time (2016) won the award for best film at both the Harlem International Film Festival and the Canadian Diversity Film Festival.
