We have begun with the countdown to Curaçao International Film Festival 2020! To get in the mood, there will be a preview of the film programme on Sunday March 1st. The Italian film Rosa pietra stella by director Marcello Sannino will be screened then.

In this modern neo realistic movie, Sannino portrays the Napolitan neighbourhood Portici, where he grew up himself. The people who live in this multicultural neighbourhood suffer from the consequences of corruption in their everyday lives. The film follow the 30 year old Carmela, who’s trying to make a living from different small jobs. When she makes a deal to help illegal immigrants to get their visum, she’s being evicted from her home together with her 11 year old daughter and mother. Sannino tells the story without much finery but with a lot of empathy.

The film is screened on Sunday March 1st at 3PM in cinema The Movies Otrobanda. Tickets are on sale now at the cinema’s cash desk for ANG 17,50.
