When the tide is out, Jewish gold seeker Salomon wanders the sand banks with his metal detector. The old German coin he finds proves to be a sign of things to come. Not much further along, he finds a German U-boat under the sand, complete with its extremely old, yet still fanatical crew.

Rob LÜCKER (1977, Netherlands) was educated in directing and screenwriting at the Utrecht School of the Arts. Here he made the short film Spielerei (2006), which was screened at the Netherlands Film Festival. His graduation film Škoda (2007) won the Talent&Pro Award at the NFF. In 2013 the TV film Verzet was released, his first feature film. Das Wad won the Golden Calf for Best Short Film in 2014.
